Roc\u00edo Nahle Garc\u00eda, accompanied by Admiral Abraham Eloy Caballero Rosas, Director of the National Port System Administration in Veracruz, Ernesto P\u00e9rez Astorga, Secretary of Economic and Port Development, Alfonso D\u00edaz de Vega, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo CICE, alongside other key members of the group, including Leoncio P\u00e9rez L\u00f3pez, CEO of Grupo CICE, conducted a visit of the company\u2019s newly established facilities in the North Bay of the Port of Veracruz who highlighted Veracruz as Mexico\u2019s top port, emphasizing that such projects strengthen both investment and employment generation within the region.<\/p>\n<p>This visit offered a significant platform to introduce a project that is set to drive innovation and growth within the sector. The Semi-Specialized Terminal for Container and Cargo Project, awarded through a competitive public tender, is designed to enhance the port\u2019s capacity. The Terminal will span 22 hectares and will feature 550 linear meters of quay with a 15-meter draft, two berths, a container yard with a static capacity of 13,000 TEUs, and dynamic handling capacity of over 500,000 TEUs. In addition to serving as a pivotal hub for maritime commerce, the Terminal is expected to generate approximately 500 permanent direct jobs and over 1,200 indirect jobs.<\/p>\n<p>This ambitious project is financed through a syndicated loan amounting to 4.15 billion pesos, with participation from several prominent Mexican financial institutions, including BanBaj\u00edo (acting as the lead bank), Banorte, Multiva, Bancomext, Bx+, and Monex, alongside support from FIRA. This makes it one of the most significant construction initiatives in the state in recent years, poised to drive both the economic and social development of the region, while creating new opportunities for the logistics sector and future generations of professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Grupo CICE is a leading Mexican consortium specializing in integrated port, logistics, and land transportation solutions. Established in Veracruz, Mexico, by 116 Mexican shareholders, whose experience as customs agents, shipping agents and in the transportation sector laid the foundation of the group, more than 30 years ago, in 1991.
