Veracruz, Ver.- Grupo CICE strengthens its capabilities for handling shipping services with the commissioning of two Liebherr P180 L-S Dual Trolley Ship-to-Shore Cranes at its Semi-Specialized Container and Project Cargo Terminal located in the North Bay of the Port of Veracruz, marking a new stage in the operational development of the facility.
The commissioning of both equipments was completed through the handling of two shipping services at the Terminal: CMA CGM’s ALTAMIRA EXPRESS, with the arrival of the ELBBRIDGE, and ZIM Integrated Shipping Services’ ZIM GULF TOUCAN service, which was handled with the SPYROS V. With these operations, both cranes are now formally integrated into North Bay’s operational scheme, strengthening CICE’s capabilities to meet the requirements of its customers and shipping lines.
With a safe working load of up to 65 metric tons, the Liebherr P180 L-S Dual Trolley Ship-to-Shore Cranes can handle up to 80 metric tons in Twin Lift mode and between 80 and 100 metric tons in Tandem mode, with an outreach of up to 20 container rows. In addition, the cranes feature Remote Operation Station (ROS) systems and Active Front End technology for energy recovery, capabilities that contribute to optimizing cargo handling operations and enhancing the Terminal’s overall operational performance.
The commissioning of both cranes represents a significant step in strengthening CICE’s operational capabilities by incorporating additional capacity for port handling operations and enabling the efficient management of the evolving dynamics of maritime services at the Port of Veracruz.
With the commissioning of its new Dual Trolley Ship-to-Shore Cranes, CICE continues to strengthen its capabilities to address the current and future demands of international trade, contributing to more efficient logistics chains and reinforcing North Bay’s as a Terminal equipped to respond to the evolving requirements of maritime and commercial connectivity.
