Veracruz, Ver.- Grupo CICE strengthens its capabilities for handling port operations with the launch of the ALTAMIRA EXPRESS service, operated by CMA CGM, with its first vessel calling at Grupo CICE’s Semi-Specialized Terminal for Containers and Project Cargo.

CMA CGM’s container vessel ELBBRIDGE made its first call at the Terminal on August 17, as part of this service, carrying out container import and export handling operations. Operating on a biweekly basis, the service has an estimated capacity of 600 containers per call and connects the ports of Progreso, Veracruz and Altamira, with international connections to Kingston, Caucedo and San Juan.

This operation also marks the commissioning of new specialized equipment for handling container vessels, as part of CICE’s strategy to modernize and strengthen its operational capabilities at its North Bay Terminal in the Port of Veracruz.

The new Liebherr P180 L-S Dual Trolley Ship-to-Shore Cranes further enhance these capabilities by providing greater efficiency and flexibility in container handling operations, incorporating features such as Twin Lift and Tandem for higher-capacity cargo handling.

In this context, the launch of the ALTAMIRA EXPRESS service represents a significant step in the operational development of CICE North Bay, linking the modernization of its capabilities with the handling of new services and the evolving needs of international trade.

Grupo CICE continues to strengthen its capabilities to provide efficient and competitive solutions, integrating infrastructure, technology and expertise to contribute to increasingly dynamic supply chains connected to international markets.
